What People Really Want To Know

So, when Parents or Athletes find out that I run an athletic performance training center, they always have a few simple questions for me.

  •    How much can you help my bench?
  •    How much heavier can you help my son’s squat?
  •    How much faster can you make my daughter’s 40?
  •    Should I take Creatine?

Since we approach athletic development so different than everyone, and we live it and breathe it every day, with great success; I forget most parents and athletes have no idea about the benefits of training correctly.

The real question everyone should be asking is: “How can you help me (or my athlete) be a better athlete?”

Isn’t this the real question? An inferior athlete – no matter how strong or fast, has ever been asked to be on a high school, junior high sports team, or won a scholarship to college. (unless it was track)

Here are a few athletic movements to check:

  •    Can the athlete do 8-10 one-legged deep squats with each leg?
  •    Can the athlete do any REAL 1 arm Push-ups?
  •    How fast can your athlete accelerate to full Speed?
  •    How fast can your athlete DEcelerate to from Full Speed, safely?
  •    Do they have the basic movement and coordination skills to be a great athlete?

If you aren’t sure, or the answer is “no” to any of these questions, you might want to look at the training the athlete is doing, and see if there are some HUGE things missing.

Go be a better athlete!
