On Saturday I had the pleasure of taking part in Capital Area Humane Societies 2ND Annual Defend Your Friend 5k Race. The race raised more than $2,000 last year for animal abuse prevention and is expected to have built on that conciderably with this years event. I was introduced to the 200 plus race participants via microphone announcement and was able to get quite a few to come try out our GO: runners warm up. Many couldn’t help but smerk at their bodies clumbsiness while trying our dynamic flexibility motions. Many were in shape “athletic” runners but were amazed at how hard it was to perform these new movements. Its always a good time when I get to expose new athletes to our cutting edge training techniques. The bigger excitement however, was knowing the our gym was able to help not only the athletes, but the thousands of abused animals in Central Ohio as well.
